Chen Kuan-Hsing’s series of courses: Chen Yingzhen’s Thought and Literature
This course was a systematic reading and discussion of Chen Yingzhen’s thought and literature, including a historical tracing of the relationship between his writing and his political and social environment in Taiwan. The focus was on his Third World vision and deep concern for Asia in his writing and practice. The close reading of his literary writings at different stages and times enabled a deeper understanding of Taiwanese history, society and culture as one link in the Third World.

Sun Ge’s series of courses: Political and Historical Logic in Cultural Studies
This course series tackled issues in the political intellectual history of cultural studies, including: how theory approaches matter; reading Lu Xun from Takeuchi Yoshimi’s perspective (the historical meaning of “struggle”); reading Lu Xun from Takeuchi Yoshimi’s perspective (the “firing range” of cultural politics); Takeuchi Yoshimi and Lu Xun’s concept of political nature (how to handle political correctness); Takeuchi Yoshimi and Lu Xun’s concept of historical nature (Asia as method); politics as art; political logic and ethical logic.
